This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after <br />its adoption by the Common Council and approval',by the Mayor. <br />/S/ Stephen Luecke <br />Member of the Common Council <br />A public hearing was held on the resolution at this time. Ernest Szarwark, <br />attorney, made the presentation for the resolution. He indicated this company was <br />purchasing new manufacturing equipment which will allow complete processing of the <br />scrap metal to be done on site in South Bend. He indicated that this equipment <br />would allow the company to have competitiveness'in the market. Council Member <br />Coleman made a motion to adopt this resolution,'seconded by Council Member <br />Zakrzewski. The resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of nine ayes. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93 -50 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE NORTHEAST CORNER <br />OF HAMILTON AND HUEY STREETS, AN ECONOMIC <br />REVITALIZATION AREA FOR PURPOSES OF A THREE (3) YEAR <br />REAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT FOR GREATER SOUTH BEND <br />DEVELOPMENT COMPANY <br />Council Member Slavinskas made a motion to continue public hearing on this bill to <br />June 28, seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski.'', The motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2047 -93 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />COMMONLY KNOWN AS 3511 AND 3615 WEST VOORDE DRIVE, AN <br />ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA FOR PURPOSES OF REAL PROPERTY <br />TAX ABATEMENT FOR CAPITOL TECHNOLOGIES, INC. <br />Whereas, a petition for real property tax abatement has been filed with the <br />City Clerk for consideration by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, requesting that the area commonly known as 3511 and 3615 W. Voorde Dr., <br />South Bend, Indiana, and which is more particularly described as follows: <br />3615 W. Voorde Dr., 2.664 AC BEG. 814 FT. SO & 727.2 E CENTER SEC 33 -38 -2E with <br />said real estate having the following Key No. 18- 92184693816; and 3511 W. Voorde <br />Dr., and which is more particularly described as follows: Beg. 815.52's & <br />1348.23' W NE Cor Sec 33 -38 -2E 2.61 acres with said real estate having the <br />following Key No. 18- 02184693805, be designated as an Economic Revitalization. <br />Area under the provisions of Indiana Code 6-1.1- 12.1 -1 et seq., and South Bend <br />Municipal Code Sections 2 -76 et seq. and; <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Economic Development has concluded an investigation <br />and prepared a report with information sufficient for the Common Council to <br />determine that the area qualifies as an Economic Revitalization Area under Indiana <br />Code 6 -1.1- 12.1 -1, et seq., and South Bend Municipal Code Sections 2 -76, et seq., <br />and has further prepared maps and plats showing the boundaries and such other <br />information regarding the area in question as required by law; and <br />Whereas, the Human Resources and Economic Development Committee of the Common. <br />Council has reviewed said report and recommended to the Common Council that the area <br />qualifies as an Economic Revitalization Area. <br />Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, as follows: <br />Section I. The Common Council hereby determines and finds that the petition <br />for Real Property Tax Abatement and the Statement of Benefits form completed by the <br />Petitioner meet the requirements of I.C. 6- 1.1- '',12.1 -1 et seg., and qualifies under <br />the provisions of South Bend Municipal Code Section 2 -76 et seg., for tax abatement. <br />Section II. The Common Council hereby <br />and finds the following: <br />A. That the description of the proposed redevelopment or rehabilitation meets <br />the applicable standards for such development.' <br />B. That the estimate of the value of the redevelopment or rehabilitation is <br />reasonable for projects of this nature; <br />C. That the estimate of the number of individuals who will be employed during <br />the construction phase of this development can',be reasonably expected to result from <br />the proposed described redevelopment or rehabilitation: <br />D. That the other benefits about which information was requested are benefits <br />that can be reasonably expected to result fromthe proposed described redevelopment <br />or rehabilitation; and <br />E. That the totality of benefits is sufficient to justify the deduction, all of <br />which satisfy the requirements of I.C. 6 -1.1- 12.1 -3. <br />Section III. The Common Council hereby determines and finds that the proposed <br />described redevelopment or rehabilitation can be reasonably expected to yield <br />
