,~. <br />• South Bend Redevelopment Authority <br />Regular Meeting April 17, 1996 <br />The agreement states that the Redevelopment Authority, along with the <br />Redevelopment Commission and the City of South Bend, agrees not to develop <br />or sell any land to be developed as a hotel within the 2010 development area <br />until the year 2003. Mrs. Kolata noted that the Airport Authority has <br />approved a similar agreement and required the City, the Commission and the <br />Authority to enter into this agreement. This only applies to land owned by the <br />parties. Private land could still be used for a hotel. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Gammage, seconded by Mr. Wroblewski and <br />unanimously carried, the Authority approved the request for Limited Non- <br />Competition agreement by and between the City of South Bend, South Bend <br />Redevelopment Commission, South Bend Redevelopment Authority and <br />Management Consortium, Inc. <br />b. Authority approval requested for Petition to Vacate Public Rights-of--Way <br />(Part of F.J. Nimtz Parkway). <br />Mrs. Kolata explained that Nimtz Parkway is already constructed and one <br />portion of the right-of--way is significantly wider than is needed. This petition <br />• is to vacate a portion of the right-of--way that is on the northside of the road. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Gammage, seconded by Mr. Wroblewski and <br />unanimously carried, the Authority approved the request for Petition to Vacate <br />Public Rights-of--Way (Past of F.J Nimtz Parkway) <br />c. Authority approval requested for transfer of property in the Airport <br />Economic Development Area to the City of South Bend, for the use and <br />benefit of its Department. of Redevelopment. <br />Mrs. Kolata noted that this is for the Blackthorn Project. It conveys land from <br />the Redevelopment Authority to the Redevelopment Commission, then the <br />Redevelopment Commission will convey to Blackthorn. Blackthorn is <br />proposing a series of nine buildings and has signed a Contract for Sale of Land <br />for the first phase which consists of three buildings. The first building will <br />begin construction within the next month. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Gammage, seconded by Mr. Wroblewski and <br />unanimously carried, the Authority approved the transfer of property in the <br />Airport Economic Development Area to the City of South Bend, for the use <br />and benefit of its Department of Redevelopment. <br />C, <br />-2- <br />
