<br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES AND WAGES
<br />OF APPOINTED OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY
<br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, WITHIN THE COMMUNITY
<br />DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR THE PERIOD FROM JULY 1,
<br />1982 TO DECEMBER 31, 198.3 AND FROM JANUARY 1, 1983
<br />TO DECEMBER 31, 1983 RESPECTIVELY
<br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
<br />Pursuant to Indiana State Law, the Common Council is charged
<br />with setting the maximum salaries and wages of appointed officers and
<br />employees of the City of South Bend.
<br />The following ordinance provides for an 8.6% increase for positions
<br />listed under the Planning Program Development and Evaluation, and the
<br />Housing Rehabilitation Program of the Community Development Department.
<br />These positions will receive an increase effective July 1, 1982 through
<br />December 31, 1983.
<br />The positions listed under Executive Management will receive the
<br />listed increases effective January 1, 1983 through December 31, 1983.
<br />Since all of these positions except the Director and Deputy Director,
<br />are receiving Community Development funds as a supplement to their maximum
<br />salaries and wages, the Council believes that an annualized increase of
<br />such supplements is important in order to give uniform increases to all
<br />City employees at the same time.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City
<br />of South Bend, Indiana as follows:
