ORDINANCE NO. 6 -B AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $10,000.00 FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT, COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR ALTERNATIVE FUEL CONVERSION TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, THROUGH THE VEHICLE MAIN - TENANCE DEPARTMENT. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: With the rising cost of gasoline, alternative fuel sources are being planned to be used. Propane at this time is a viable alternative source to be used in our vehicles, and this appropriation will be used for the conversion to such. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The sum of $10,000.00 is hereby appropriated for the year rom the Federal Assistance Grant Fund, commonly known as the General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. This appro- priation is to be administered by the Vehicle Maintenance Depart- ment and will be distributed as set forth below: ACCOUNT PROGRAM FA 217 ALTERNATIVE FUEL CONVERSION PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AMOUNT 0252.1 Equipment Modification $10,000.00 SECTION II.
