Auburn
Members of the Common Council Member
441 County /City Building
South Bend, IN 46601
Dear Councilmen:
Attached are three (3) ordinances amending Chapter 21 of the Municipal
Code. These ordinances all involve zoning and are related to activities
in the East Bank Development Area.
The first ordinance amends the existing "A -311 zoning classification to
provide for a mixed -use district allowing both multi - family residential
and business commercial uses.
The second ordinance is a rezoning of the East Bank Development Area
from "D" Light Industrial to "A -311 Mixed -Use Multi- Family Residential
and Commercial and from "F" Height and Area to "G" Height and Area.
This rezoning would bring the East Bank area into line with the develop-
ment controls of the adopted East Bank Development Plan.
The third ordinance extends several provisions in Chapter 21 that currently
relate to the downtown redevelopment area to cover other redevelopment
areas. These provisions include establishment of a Design Review Committee
in redevelopment project areas and sign controls in such areas.
Your favorable consideration of these ordinances is requested.
Sincerely, o
Ann Kolata
Deputy Director
AEK:amc
Attachments
