SECTION III. In addition to the foregoing annual pay, the <br />officers and members of the Police Department shall receive compen- <br />sation for extra duty for the calendar years 1982 and 1983, as <br />follows: <br />(a) Effective January 1, 1981, if an officer is subpoenaed <br />to court or has to go to court or is required to appear at any given <br />location to validate a complaint, warrant or recall, the officer shall <br />be paid (if off duty) at the rate of time and one -half the officer's <br />regularly scheduled work day and four hours on the officer's regularly <br />scheduled day off. In addition, any officers required to work overtime <br />shall be paid at the rate of one and a half times the officer's <br />normal rate of pay with a minimum of one.hour for any overtime beyond <br />said officer's normal work day schedule. <br />(b) Any officers shall be entitled to receive $31.90 for each <br />of the holidays listed below, whether such holiday is worked or not. <br />Payment shall be made for each holiday during the pay period to <br />which the holiday falls; however, no holiday shall be paid in advance <br />of its occurrence. The holiday pay shall apply only to the following: <br />New Year's Day Fourth of July <br />Lincoln!s. Birthday Labor Day <br />Washington's Birthday Columbus Day <br />Good Friday Veteran's Day <br />Easter Sunday Thanksgiving Day <br />Memorial Day Christmas Day <br />(c) For night incentive and hazard pay, $300.00 per year. <br />SECTION IV. The Common Council recommends as follows: <br />(a) The sworn members of the Police Department shall receive <br />an annual clothing allowance of $500.00. Such clothing allowance <br />shall be distributed one -half by each June 15th and the remaining <br />one -half by each December 15th. <br />(b) That the annual clothing allowance for those individuals <br />holding the rank of Chief, Division Chief or Captain be in the amount <br />of $375.00; and be distributed one -half by each June 15th, and the <br />remaining one -half by each December 15th. <br />(c) That the advancement of rank from Patrolman First Class <br />to Corporal be after three complete years upon satisfactory performance <br />of duty and promotion by the Board of Safety. <br />(d) That the same dollar amount being paid pursuant to the 1981 <br />police salary ordinance for each officer requesting Dependent Health <br />Insurance coverage be continued. <br />(e) That officer working under the Overtime Foot Patrol <br />Program be paid at the rate of $7.50 per hour. <br />(f) That no other special pay programs or salary bonuses <br />such as S.O.S be established, and that if such special programs are <br />needed, that participating officers be paid out of the Overtime monies. <br />SECTION V. All monetary fringe benefits which shall remain at <br />the 1981 levels for the 1982 and 1983 calendar years, may be <br />renegotiated for the 1984 calendar year. <br />-2- <br />
