BILL NO. ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $5,217.00 FROM THE LOCAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY FUND TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION AND DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: The South Bend Human Rights Commission (SBHRC) has a contract with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Pursuant to the contract the EEOC is to provide training to the SBHRC in resolving charges of discrimination. The SBHRC has been awarded $5,217.00 to cover the expenses connected with the training. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: SECTION I. The sum of $5,217.00 is hereby appropriated for the fiscal year starting October 1, 1980, from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Fund. The appropriation shall be used for the expenses of the Human Rights Commission incurred under the Federal Grant awarded them by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
