Kernan, Mayor Board of Public Works February 6, 1997 - Mr. William Harris 2212 West Smith Street South Bend, Indiana 46628 RE: Purchase of City -Owned Properties 2215 and 2221 Smith Street - Dear Mr. Harris: The Board of Public Works, at its meeting held December 9, 1996, accepted your bid of $20.00 for the purchase of the City -owned properties at 2215 and 2221 Smith Street. The Department of Community and Economic Development has recommended that if you are going to construct homes on these lots, you should contact their offices to determine whether the City's Residential Tax Abatement program could be applied. You may contact Larry Magliozzi at 235- 5550. The City Attorney's office has prepared the appropriate Purchase Agreement for these properties for your signature. Please sign the Purchase Agreement, and return it to me. In addition, please submit a check to the Board of Public Works, made payable to the City of South Bend, in the amount of $37.00, which is $20.00 for the two (2) properties plus $17.00 in filing fees required of the Auditor's Office and the Recorder's Office for the recording of the Quit Claim Deed for the properties. Once the Purchase Agreement and payment has been returned to me, the Quit Claim Deed will be recorded for this property. I will forward copies of the completed documents to you.
