Clean the plastic or insulated pipe penetration.
Expansion of the intumescent material during a fire
closes the plastic pipe. Very dirty pipes (ie: with
remains of mortar) may lead to a delay in the closing
action. Soiled plastic or insulated pipes should,
therefore, be cleaned in the area where the
CP 648-S Firestop Wrap Strip is to be installed.
2. Install Wrap Strip. First check the annular space
to ensure compatibility with the appropriate UL
System. Use the CP 648-S Firestop Wrap Strip
corresponding to the diameter of the pipe to be
installed. Wrap the CP 648-S strip around the pipe
and fasten it tightly using the integrated adhesive
strip.
Push the CP 648-S Firestop Wrap Strip into the
annular space in accordance with the UL listing.
Technical Data* I CP 648-S
Density
Dimension (approximate)
(thkns" x width" x length")
Color
Temperature resistance
Intumescent activation
x. 1.35 g/Cm`
1.5": 3/16" x 1 " x 6-3/4"
2": 3/16" x 1" x 8-1/4"
3": 3/16" x 1-3/4" x 11-1/2"
4": 3/8" x 1-3/4" x 15"
6": 1/2" x 1-3/4" x 22-1/4"
Black with foil backing
-40"F to 212"F (-40"C to 1
Expansion ratio (unrestricted)
Tested in accordance with
• UL 1479 • ASTM E 814 • ASTM G21
320"F
1:40
-At 73-F (23oC) and 50% relative humidity
G,garpFO FOR SEOID OR CAVITY IN THROUGH -PENETRATION TERIAI_
Q FIRESTOP SYSTEMS ramn momvoA
APPROVED vian meava1-trmveft-fom.
CSEE UL FIRE RESISTANCE DIRECTORY rec*^iaeo-sa•naaa
66Y7 Me Wbrlml prporeli"n.
3.
