Davis,
Derek Dieter and Karen White:

Re: Century Center

To: Mayor Pete Buttigieg and All Interested Parties:

It is our understanding that a critical decision will be made on Wednesday, April 17, 2013,
regarding the future management of the Century Center.

The undersigned South Bend Common Council Members believe that a locally managed, self-
operating model would best serve as the overall operations manager of the Century Center. A
local entity would provide greater accountability to the South Bend taxpayers, and perhaps
greater transparency.

While it is commendable that all entities, which have submitted proposals are qualified to
provide such management services, we believe that the lack of a local component such as Global
Spectrum, should not be continued.

We therefore believe the brightest future for Century Center, as a key player and destination site
in downtown South Bend deserves professional local management. Thank you.

1
