ORDINANCE NO. 7 Lod —got <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE MAXIMUM <br />SALARY FOR THE POSITION OF WATER <br />WORKS PROJECT ENGINEER TO BE HELD <br />BY THE CITY ENGINEER <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: Since the City Engineer has <br />assumed greater responsibilities in directing certain specific <br />projects in the Bureau of Water Works, it is appropriate to <br />compensate him for the additional areas of responsibilities he <br />has been assigned. <br />Additional monies have been appropriated and are <br />available in the line item for salaries and wages within the Water <br />Works Fund of the City of South Bend. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: <br />SECTION I. That the maximum annual salary for the <br />position of Project Engineer, to be held by the City Engineer, be <br />no more than as follows for the position listed below: <br />POSITION SALARY /WAGES PRESENT <br />Department of Public Works <br />Bureau of Water Works <br />Project Engineer -0- <br />SALARY 14AGES <br />PROPOSED <br />$3,000 <br />SECTION II. In addition to the preceding amount, the <br />City Engineer is also funded from Engineering as City Engineer for <br />$20,923, Water Works as Utility Commissioner for $2,920, Waste <br />Water as Utility Commissioner for $2,920, Waste Water as Project <br />Engineer for $3,505 and Community Development as City Engineer for <br />$2,323 for a total annual salary of $35,591. <br />SECTION III.
