Community Investment <br />4:20 p.m. <br />March 25, 2013 <br />Committee Members Present: Gavin Ferlic, Henry Davis, Valerie Schey, Dr. Ferlic <br />Other Council Present: Tim Scott, Dr. Varner, Oliver Davis, Karen White, Derek Dieter <br />Other Present: Greg Jones, Kevin Smith, Gene Harding Joyce Long <br />Agenda: Michiana Science & Technology Center —Greg Jones <br />In response to Council questions Community Investment Committee Chair Gavin Ferlic asked Greg Jones, <br />President of the Michiana Science and Technology Center Inc. to provide a brief update on the nature <br />and business of MSTC; <br />To that end in the 15 minute allotted time Greg Jones supplied a brief overview and a detailed handout <br />(a copy is on file in the Office of the City Clerk) for the Council to review. The overriding message to <br />Council was that the world and the workplace is changing rapidly. We consequently have to embrace <br />the transition from a manufacturing to a knowledge based culture or mentality. <br />The handout materials explain and showcase the work MSTC; is doing to embrace that new paradigm. <br />Following brief discussion and a missive to look over the handout for possible questions it may generate. <br />There being no further business to come before the committee at this time, Chairperson Gavin Ferlic, <br />adjourned the meeting at 5:22 p.m. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Gavin Ferlic, Chairperson <br />Community & Economic Development Committee <br />
