(ff) Application; contents. <br />(1) An application for a certificate shall be filed <br />with the Board of Public Works upon forms provided by the Controller <br />and be verified under oath. <br />information: <br />(2) The application shall furnish the following <br />(a) the name and address of the applicant; <br />(b) the financial status of the applicant, including <br />the amounts of all unpaid judgments against the <br />applicant and the nature of the transaction or acts <br />giving rise to such judgments; <br />(c) the experience of the applicant in the transporta- <br />tion of passengers; <br />(d) facts which the applicant believes tend to prove <br />that public convenience and necessity require the <br />granting of a certificate; <br />(e) the number of vehicles to be operated or <br />controlled by the applicant; <br />(f) the color scheme and insignia to be used to <br />designate the vehicle or vehicles of the applicant; and <br />(g) such further information as the Board of <br />Public Works may require. <br />(gg) Public hearing;notice. <br />(1) Upon the filing of an application,th- Board of <br />Public Works shall fix a time and place for a public hearing thereon. <br />Notice of hearing shall be given to the applicant and to all persons <br />to whom certificates of public convenience and necessity have been <br />theretofore issued. Due notice shall also be given the gneral public <br />by publication of'such notice one (1) time in a local newspaper of <br />general circulation. Any interested person may file with the Board <br />of Public Works a memorandum in support of or in opposition to the <br />issuance of a certificate. <br />(2) The Board of Public works shall instruct the City <br />Controller to issue to any present holder of a taxicab license under <br />this section, a certificate of public convenience and necessity for <br />the operation of the same number of taxicabs presently licensed to <br />such holder, upon the filing of an application as required by sub- <br />section (ff) and complying with sub - section (ii). No notice and no <br />public hearing shall be necessary as required by this section. <br />(hh) Issuance; denial. <br />(1) If the Board of Public Works finds that additional <br />taxicab service inthe City is required by the public convenience <br />and necessity and that the applicant is fit, willing and able to <br />perform suchpublic transportation and to conform to the provisions <br />of this section and the rules promulgated by the Board, then the <br />Board shall authorize the City Controller to issue a certificate <br />stating: <br />(a) the name and address of the applicant; <br />(b) the number of vehicles authorized under such <br />certificate; and <br />(c) the date of issuance. <br />(2) If a certificate is not issued, the application <br />shall be denied. <br />(ii) Liability insurance required; contents. <br />(1) No certificate of public convenience and necessity <br />may be issued or continued in operation to a holder unless there is <br />-53 - <br />
