Kernan <br />Common Council <br />County -City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />Dear Council Members: <br />In accordance with Ordinance No. 6976 -81, the following <br />recommendation is being submitted to the Common Council con- <br />cerning the petition filed by Super Auto Salvage to vacate <br />the first seven foot north -south alley west of and adjacent <br />to Lot F, John E. Walz Revised Addition, running south from <br />the south line of vacated Dean Street to the north line of <br />Sherwood Street. <br />Favorable comments have been received by the Board <br />from the Engineering Department, Area Plan Commission and <br />Community Development Department for vacation of the above <br />mentioned public right -of -way. A public hearing was held <br />on November 1, 1982, by the Board concerning the proposed <br />vacation. No remonstrators were present to speak against <br />the vacation, and no written objections were filed with the <br />Board. A copy of the excerpts of minutes from that public <br />hearing is enclosed herein. <br />The Board of Works, therefore, recommends vacation of <br />the above alley, SUBJECT TO ANY AND ALL UTILITY EASEMENTS. <br />Sincerely, <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />Barbara J.
