Appropriating $808,549.00 Water Works General Fund

PARENT, Mayor COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601 February 3, 1982 Members of the Common Council 4th Floor County -City Building South Bend, Indiana 46601 Dear Members of the Council: 219/284 -9742 This bill would restore various accounts within the Water Works General Fund to the level approved by the Common Council last August. In acting on the final 1982 budget for the Water Works General Fund, the State Board of Tax Commissioners reduced the budget by $808,549.00 because this is the amount of the deficit that we had projected for December 31, 1982. At this time we project that the deficit will be less than that because of the new rate increase and the Ashland settlement. As in previous years we will continue to cover any deficit by borrowing internally from other funds such as the Water Works Depreciation Fund. In order that Water Works operations may continue, we are asking that the Council restore the Water Works General Fund to its orig- inal amount through this additional appropriation.
