CITY OF SOUTH BEND PETITION FOR <br />TANGIBLE PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT CONSIDERATION <br />The undersigned owner(s) of new manufacturing equipment, personal property, located within the <br />City of South Bend, hereby petitions the Common Council of the City of South Bend for personal <br />property (new manufacturing equipment) tax abatement consideration and pursuant to I.C. 6-1.1-12. <br />1-1 et seg., and South Bend Municipal Code Section 2-84.2 et seg., for this petition states the <br />following: <br />Describe the proposed project, including information about the new manufacturing <br />equipment personal properly ("equipment") to be installed, the amount of land to be used, if <br />any, the proposed use of the equipment, and a general statement as to the value of the project <br />to your business. <br />In conjunction with the building ofa 90, 000 square foot manufacturingfaciliry which GTA <br />Containers, Inc. plans to lease and occupy in the late fall of 2008, the Company plans to <br />purchase equipment to be used in its manufacturing operation in the new building, including <br />without limitation, automated fabric cutting equipment and various machines forfabric seam <br />sealing, using hot air and Radio Fregrrency (RF) technologies. Equipment will also be <br />purchased to transfer and handle raw materials and fznished goods inventories. <br />The building and equipment will allow GTA Containers, Inc. to more than double its current <br />manufacturing capacity, thereby, enabling the Company to bid on large, multi year contracts <br />with the U.S. Dept of Defense and also have capacity for non-military related contracts. <br />2. The project will create at least 6-11 new, permanent, jobs within the first year, <br />representing a new annual payroll of at least $160, 000-$260, 000 and will maintain 31 <br />existing permanent full-time and 0 existing part-time job with an annual payroll of <br />$1.125.000 .The projected annual salaries for each position are as follows: <br />3. Production Worker -$20,000, Quality Control/Engineer - $60,000 <br />4.
