Polk <br />The Company is committed to providing its employees with a workplace that is safe, <br />productive and free of substance abuse. The company will take reasonable measures to <br />insure that employee alcohol or drug use does not jeopardize the safety of other <br />employees, does not impair their ability to operate efficiently and insures compliance <br />with drug testing programs mandated by state or federal agencies. <br />Section 2. Prohibitive Conduct — Drugs <br />The use, manufacture, distribution, dispensation, sale or possession of illegal drugs at any <br />time or place, whether on or off duty is strictly prohibited. <br />Legal Drugs — The use of legal drugs (over the counter or prescription medication) in <br />accordance with doctor's orders or manufacturer's recommendations, is not prohibited as <br />long as your Supervisor is notified. Excessive use beyond that prescribed or <br />recommended or abuse of such drugs, however, shall be considered use of illegal drugs <br />under this policy. <br />Section 3. Prohibitive Conduct — Alcohol <br />The unauthorized use or possession of alcoholic beverages while at the workplace or <br />performing company business, is prohibited. The term "work place" as used in this <br />policy includes company premises, jobsites, worksites, parking areas and company <br />vehicles. <br />The use of alcohol off premises in any manner which results in intoxication or <br />impairment on the job or which adversely affects attendance or job performance, is <br />prohibited. <br />Appearing for work or performing any -job duties or company business while intoxicated <br />or impaired by alcohol is strictly prohibited. <br />This may be an abbreviated version of the company's drug and alcohol free work place <br />policy.
