With these architecturally stylish shingles come GAF’s legendary Dura Grip™ sealant. This heavy-duty adhesive pairs with the smooth microgranule surface of the StrikeZone™ nailing area for fast tack. <br />Starter Shingles: Pro-Start® Eave/Rake Starter Strips will be applied along the eaves and rakes. The continuous, properly positioned adhesive provides exceptionally binding strength to seal down the fi rst course of shingles. In addition to helping prevent blow-off , taking this step allows for cleaner, straighter roof edges. <br />Ridge Cap Shingles: Seal-A-Ridge® Protective Ridge Cap Shingles off er protection at high stress areas of your roof (the hips and ridges). Seal-A-Ridge® Ridge Cap Shingles are a key part of the GAF Lifetime Roofi ng System and have earned the Good Housekeeping Seal. <br />Synthetic Underlayment: A layer of GAF FeltBuster shall be applied horizontally over the roof deck using plastic cap nails, lapping each course over lower courses at a two-inch minimum. <br />Ice & WaterShield: To protect your home from damaging eff ects of ice dams & wind-driven rain, we will provide & install GAF Weather Watch ice & water protection. This self-sealing product contains fl exible rubberized asphalt and a fi berglass-reinforced membrane with a granular surface. This ice and water shield will be installed at the eaves, extending no less than 24” inside the heated wall space of the structure, according to building codes. <br />Roof/Attic Ventilation: If applicable, M&M will address your intake and exhaust ventilation. <br />PipeFlashing: New lead soil stack sheathings shall be installed in place of the existing fl ashings. <br />Step Flashing: If applicable, where the roof meets a vertical wall, 5” x 7” aluminum step fl ashing shall be applied between shingle courses. <br />Chimney fl ashing: If applicable, a pre-bent aluminum step fl ashing shall be installed up the sides of the chimney and saddled between shingle courses. A metal counter fl ashing shall be installed to control moisture entry. <br />Chimney saddle: Will be installed if applicable. This will help divert rainwater and melting snow. <br />L-Flashing: If applicable, L-Flashing shall be installed to help prevent water penetration. <br />GAF Extended Warranty: As a GAF Master Elite Contractor and regular winner of GAF’s President’s Club, M&M Home Remodeling Services is certifi ed to off er and include a GAF Golden Pledge Limited Warranty with this project, which may be transferred through GAF up to one time.
