REGULAR MEETING <br />Council Member Coleman <br />The motion carried. <br />APRIL 10, 1995 <br />BILL NO. 5 -95 A BILL AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2130 <br />MISHAWAKA AVENUE, CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Council Member Slavinskas <br />reported that the Zoning and Vacation Committee had met on this bill and recommended <br />it to the Council favorable. John Byorni, Area Plan, indicated that the petitioners <br />were requesting this zoning to allow for the expansion <br />of a gas station for a convenient mart and a self serve car washing facility. He <br />indicated this received a favorable recommendation from the Commission. Robert <br />Richardson representing R/V Consultants, made the presentation for the bill. He <br />indicated the petitioners wanted to add a convenient mart and a self serve car wash <br />to this gas station. He indicated the car wash would be behind the station, so this <br />20' strip of land needs to be rezoned. Council Member Coleman made a motion to <br />recommend this bill to the Council favorable, seconded by Council Member Duda. The <br />motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 6 -95 A BILL AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT LOT 5, <br />JOHN CARROLL SECOND MINOR, MAYFLOWER ROAD IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA <br />Council Member Puzzello made a motion to accept the substitute bill on file with the <br />City Clerk, seconded by Council Member Coleman. The motion carried. Council Member <br />Coleman made a motion to continue this bill until May 22, at the request of the <br />petitioner, seconded by Council Member Duda. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 7 -95 A BILL AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1200 <br />BLOCK FELLOWS (EAST SIDE), 500 BLOCK WENGER (SOUTH SIDE), 1200 BLOCK <br />RUSH (WEST SIDE) AND 500 BLOCK PENNSYLVANIA (BOTH SIDES) IN THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Council Member Slavinskas <br />reported that the Zoning and Vacation Committee had met on this bill and recommended <br />it to the Council favorable. John Byorni, Area Plan, indicated that the petitioners <br />were requesting this zoning to allow for the construction of apartments. He <br />indicated the Commission gave this zoning and favorable recommendation. Council <br />Member Slavinskas made a motion to accept the substitute bill on file with the City <br />Clerk, seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski. The motion carried. Council Member <br />Luecke made the presentation for the bill. He indicated South Bend Heritage and <br />Redevelopment were constructing 27 duplexes on the southeast side of South Bend. He <br />indicated he was an employee of South Bend Heritage, however, this action will not <br />benefit him personally so he will vote on this bill. Council Member Coleman made a <br />motion to recommend this bill to the Council favorable, as amended, seconded by <br />Council Member Duda. The motion carried. <br />Council Member Kelly made a motion to rise and report to the Council, seconded by <br />Council Member Coleman. JEFFERSON BLVD. FROM THE EAST <br />RIGHT -OF -WAY LINE OF S. ST. PETER TO THE EAST RIGHT -OF -WAY <br />LINE OF THE FIRST NORTH /SOUTH ALLEY E. OF S. ST. PETER AND <br />THE FIRST EAST /WEST ALLEY SOUTH OF E. WASHINGTON AVE. FROM <br />THE WEST RIGHT -OF -WAY LINE OF S. NOTRE DAME AVE. TO THE EAST <br />RIGHT -OF -WAY LINE OF THE FIRST NORTH /SOUTH ALLEY WEST OF S. <br />NOTRE DAME AVENUE. Council Member Puzzello made a motion to recommend this <br />bill to the Council favorable, seconded by Council Member Washington. The motion <br />carried on a roll call vote of nine ayes. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 8590 -95 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR PROPERTY <br />LOCATED AT 1918 EDISON ROAD IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA <br />This bill had third reading.
