REGULAR MEETING Council Member Coleman The motion carried. APRIL 10, 1995 BILL NO. 5 -95 A BILL AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2130 MISHAWAKA AVENUE, CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Council Member Slavinskas reported that the Zoning and Vacation Committee had met on this bill and recommended it to the Council favorable. John Byorni, Area Plan, indicated that the petitioners were requesting this zoning to allow for the expansion of a gas station for a convenient mart and a self serve car washing facility. He indicated this received a favorable recommendation from the Commission. Robert Richardson representing R/V Consultants, made the presentation for the bill. He indicated the petitioners wanted to add a convenient mart and a self serve car wash to this gas station. He indicated the car wash would be behind the station, so this 20' strip of land needs to be rezoned. Council Member Coleman made a motion to recommend this bill to the Council favorable, seconded by Council Member Duda. The motion carried. BILL NO. 6 -95 A BILL AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT LOT 5, JOHN CARROLL SECOND MINOR, MAYFLOWER ROAD IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA Council Member Puzzello made a motion to accept the substitute bill on file with the City Clerk, seconded by Council Member Coleman. The motion carried. Council Member Coleman made a motion to continue this bill until May 22, at the request of the petitioner, seconded by Council Member Duda. The motion carried. BILL NO. 7 -95 A BILL AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1200 BLOCK FELLOWS (EAST SIDE), 500 BLOCK WENGER (SOUTH SIDE), 1200 BLOCK RUSH (WEST SIDE) AND 500 BLOCK PENNSYLVANIA (BOTH SIDES) IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Council Member Slavinskas reported that the Zoning and Vacation Committee had met on this bill and recommended it to the Council favorable. John Byorni, Area Plan, indicated that the petitioners were requesting this zoning to allow for the construction of apartments. He indicated the Commission gave this zoning and favorable recommendation. Council Member Slavinskas made a motion to accept the substitute bill on file with the City Clerk, seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski. The motion carried. Council Member Luecke made the presentation for the bill. He indicated South Bend Heritage and Redevelopment were constructing 27 duplexes on the southeast side of South Bend. He indicated he was an employee of South Bend Heritage, however, this action will not benefit him personally so he will vote on this bill. Council Member Coleman made a motion to recommend this bill to the Council favorable, as amended, seconded by Council Member Duda. The motion carried. Council Member Kelly made a motion to rise and report to the Council, seconded by Council Member Coleman. The motion carried.
