I <br />have reviewed them and have a recommendation for award based on the following. <br />The bidders are summarized as follows: <br />Bidder <br />Larson Danielson <br />Construction Co., <br />Inc. <br />Gibson Lewis, <br />LLC <br />Michuda-Cruz <br />Indiana JV <br />LLC <br />Base Bid $7,282,000 $7,995,000 $8,107,117 <br />Alternate 1: Acoustical <br />Ceiling Tile $91,500 $130,000 $112,589 <br />Alternate 2: Interior <br />Lighting $641,000 $603,000 $652,408 <br />Alternate 3: Paint <br />Exterior $203,000 $82,000 $224,986 <br />Alternate 4: Replace <br />VAV Boxes $1,073,250 $983,000 $1,144,447 <br />Alternate 5: Exterior <br />Lighting $38,000 $36,000 $40,013 <br />Alternate 6: Rework <br />Council Chambers $45,000 $41,000 $39,297 <br />The MWBE goals set for this project are: <br />MBE Goal: 0.82% <br />WBE Goal: 3.30% <br />Larson Danielson’s bid, as well as Michuda-Cruz, included Women and Minority Business <br />Enterprises not within the program approved geographic region. While acceptable enterprises <br />were included otherwise, the goal was not met for the Women or Minority Business Enterprise <br />goals. The Michuda-Cruz bid only met the MBE goal. Engineering, the Office of Diversity and <br />Inclusion, and City Legal reviewed the bids to conclude good faith efforts were present in Larson <br />Danielson’s bid to meet the requirements for the City of South Bend’s Minority and Women <br />Business Enterprise Inclusion Program Plan.
