East Res. <br />* Funds are subject to the City Controller's determination of availability; if funds are unavailable, as solely determined by the City Controller, then the <br />authorization of the expenditure of such funds shall be void and of no effect. <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: Declaratory Resolution to amend the South Side Development area <br />SPECIFICS: This Declaratory Resolution begins the process of amending the Development Plan for South Side <br />Development (SSDA). By amending this plan to realign the boundary with an updated legal description and add <br />properties to the acquisition list: all reflected in the updated development area plan, the Commission will be able to <br />strategically focus its resources on current priorities. The following schedule includes the following dates (All Dates <br />subject to change): <br />•10/7/24: Redevelopment Commission Declaratory Resolution <br />•11/18/24: South Bend Plan Commission Resolution to review alignment with the City’s development plan and <br />adopt an approving order. <br />•11/25/24: Common Council – Resolution approving Area Plan’s Order and the Commission’s Declaratory <br />Resolution <br />•Upon approval by Area Plan Commission and Common Council, notices will be mailed and published for a <br />public hearing at the Commission’s 12/12/24 meeting. <br />•12/10/24 and 12/11/24: Community meetings inviting property owners to learn about the process and <br />upcoming hearing <br />•12/12/24: Redevelopment Commission – Confirming Resolution presented for consideration. / Public Hearing <br />Staff requests approval of Resolution No. 3608 to begin the process of amending the Plans for the SSDA, and to <br />authorize the publication of a notice of public hearing. <br />_________________________Pres/V-Pres <br />ATTEST: __________________Secretary <br />Date: ____________________ <br /> APPROVED Not Approved <br />SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br />10-10-2024 <br />
