Ludowici Interlocking Tile Installation Manual: LudoSlate & LudoShake <br />59www.ludowici.com <br />Repair <br />To replace a broken or damaged tile do not use an <br />exposed Copper strap. These are unsightly and can work <br />loose allowing the replacement tile to slide out. <br />Completely remove <br />damaged tile and fasteners. <br />A slate ripper will facilitate <br />removal of fasteners. <br />Measure the distance <br />from the top of the course <br />below to the bottom of <br />the adjacent tile to the <br />replacement. <br />Align a Quik-Tach™ <br />Bracket on the back of the <br />replacement tile to the <br />correct bracket spacing. <br />Wire bracket to the <br />replacement tile with 16 ga. <br />Copper Wire. <br />Lift the tile in the course <br />above and slide the <br />replacement tile into <br />place so the bracket <br />engages the top of the tile <br />below the replacement. <br />Apply a small bead of <br />Sealant or roofing Cement <br />under replacement tile. <br />Quik-Tach™ <br />Bracket Spacing <br />Replacement <br />Tile <br />Small Bead of <br />Sealant <br />Figure 59.3 Replacement Tile <br /> with Quik-Tach™ <br /> Bracket <br />Figure 59.2 Remove Damaged <br /> Tile <br />Figure 59.1 Damaged Tile <br />Ludowici’s Quik-Tach™ Brackets are a quick, efficient and <br />concealed method for tile replacement.
