CITY OF SOUTH BEND OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK <br /> Skip Morrell, Principal Development Planner, with offices on the 14th floor of the County-City <br /> building, reported that the petitioner,Two Brothers Real Estate Investment LP, is seeking to <br /> rezone the property from Urban Neighborhood I (U 1) to Urban Neighborhood 1I (U2) to convert <br /> a single-family home into a triplex. This up-zoning aligns with the South Bend Comprehensive <br /> Plan for an adequate supply of housing and comes with a favorable recommendation from the <br /> Plan Commission. Efforts will be made to ensure the property aligns with the character of the <br /> surrounding homes, including updates to the front porch. <br /> Committee Member Shiela Niezgodski asked if there was an agreement regarding the front porch <br /> modifications. <br /> Skip Morrell confirmed that the homeowner has agreed to this arrangement. <br /> Councilmember Rachel Tomas Morgan inquired about the timeline for these renovations. <br /> Skip Morrell estimated that, weather permitting,the renovations could take six months to a year. <br /> Committee Chair Dr. Oliver Davis asked if the petitioner was present. <br /> Skip Morrell confirmed that the petitioner has been informed about the meeting.
