<br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />STUDEBAKER NATIONAL MUSEUM <br />SKYLIGHT REPLACEMENT SHOP DRAWINGS AND PRODUCT DATA 01340-1 <br />SECTION 01340 - SHOP DRAWINGS AND PRODUCT DATA <br /> <br />A. General <br /> <br /> 1. Summary: <br /> <br />a. Make submittals required by the Contract Documents, and revise and resubmit as <br />necessary to establish compliance with the specified requirements, all as described <br />in this section. <br /> <br />b. Related Work: Individual requirements for submittals may be described in pertinent <br />Sections of these Specifications. <br /> <br />c. Work Not Included: The Contractor may require his subcontractors to provide <br />drawings, setting diagrams and similar information to help coordinate the Work, but <br />such data shall remain between the Contractor and his subcontractors and will not <br />be reviewed by the Architect unless specifically called for within the Contract <br />Documents. <br /> <br />2. Submittals: Make submittals of Shop Drawings, Samples, Substitution Requests and other <br />items in accordance with the provisions of this Section. <br /> <br /> 3. Quality Assurance: <br /> <br /> a. Coordination of Submittals: <br />1) Prior to each submittal, carefully review and coordinate all aspects of each <br />item being submitted. <br />2) Verify that each item in the submittal conforms in all respects with the <br />specified requirements. <br />3) By affixing the Contractor's signature to each submittal, certify that this <br />coordination has been performed. <br /> <br />b. Review and approval of Shop Drawings by the Architect is for general conformity to <br />design intent only. This review does not authorize changes to the contract sum or <br />relieve the Contractor in any way of his contract obligations. <br /> <br />c. Substitutions: When a material, product, or method is listed in the Specifications or <br />on the Drawings, it shall be considered the basis of design. Where "or equal" is <br />indicated, other products shall be considered acceptable provided that they meet <br />the design intent (as interpreted by the Owner and Architect) and fit in the available <br />space. Where "or equal" is indicated, other products will be considered acceptable <br />provided that they are submitted to and approved by the Owner and Architect (prior <br />to quoting) in accordance with the Scope of Work, III. Term “Or Equal”. <br /> <br />B. Products <br /> <br /> 1. Manufacturer’s Literature: <br /> <br />a. Where contents of submitted literature from manufacturers include data not <br />pertinent to the submittal, clearly show which portions of the contents are being <br />submitted for review. <br /> <br />b. Submit the number of copies which are required to be returned, plus two (2) copies <br />which will be retained by the Architect.
