ORDINANCE NO %4G(.J3 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 21, <br />ARTICLE 10, SECTION 21 -170 ENTITLED PERMITTED <br />SIGNS BY DISTRICTS <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br />Recently there has been confusion over the terminology presently <br />existing in Article 10 "Sign Regulations" of the Zoning Chapter of the <br />Municipal Code of the City of South Bend. <br />The types of signs permitted in "B" Residence Districts has <br />specifically been subject to varying interpretations. <br />The following Bill would amend the sign regulations as they <br />pertain to "B" Residence Districts in the hope of eliminating any <br />confusion as to the types of signs which are permitted in this district. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City <br />of South Bend, Indiana, as follows; <br />SECTION I. Chapter 21, Article 10, Section 21 -170 shall be <br />amended in part to read as follows: <br />Sec. 21 -170 Permitted signs by District. <br />(3) "B" Residence district <br />(a) All signs permitted in the "A" Residence District. <br />(b) Institutional bulletins- e-- elesteaes -se�s- <br />of any governmental agency, religious group, <br />hospital or school, located on the premises and <br />bearing only the information related to the activities <br />conducted on the premises, persons involved or other <br />such information, not exceeding sixty -four (64) <br />square feet of copy area. <br />SECTION II.
