Community Investment <br />3:56 p.m. <br />March 11, 2013 <br />Committee Members Present: Gavin Ferlic, Henry Davis, Valerie Schey, Dr. Ferlic <br />Other Council Present: Tim Scott, Dr. Varner, Oliver Davis, Karen White, Derek Dieter <br />Citizen Members: Patrick Mullen <br />Other Present: Andrew Nemeth, Kathy Hahn, Kevin Krueggel, John Axleberg, John Wilde <br />Agenda: Bill No. 13 -19 Abatement 3340 Douglas Rd — Harrington Orthodontics <br />Bill No. 13 -20 Abatement 1902 S. Main — General Sheet Metal <br />Two bills, #13 -19 and #13 -20 were scheduled for hearing before Gavin Ferlic's Community Investment <br />Committee. <br />The first was a request for a 3 year real property tax abatement for Harrington Orthodontics. Kathy <br />Hahn from the Cl department reported the particulars qualifying the petitioner for the abatement. <br />Andrew Nemeth developer for the project was present to answer any questions. <br />After brief discussion Henry Davis moved for a favorable recommendation to full Council. Dr. Ferlic <br />seconded and all affirmed. <br />Bill No. 13 -20 was a petition for a 5 year personal property abatement submitted by general Sheet <br />Metal. Kathy Hahn verified the eligibility for the abatement. <br />Kevin Kruegel representing General Sheet Metal described the equipment to be purchased, namely a <br />sheet cutter and a tube bender. <br />Favorable comments were expressed by Henry Davis who supports incentives to create good paying <br />permanent jobs that investments like General Sheet Metal will create. <br />On a motion by Dr. Ferlic, seconded by Henry Davis and affirmed by all the bill was sent to Council <br />favorably.
