• South Bend Redevelopment Authority
Regular Meeting -August 5, 1993
3. NEW BUSINESS
a. continued...
Mr. Fewell questioned the approximately $20,000 per acre price. Mrs. Kolata explained
that the court appraisers set the price. Our development in the area has increased
property values, as has the extension of City water and sewer to the west side of the by-
pass.
Upon a motion by Mr. Wroblewski, seconded by Mr. Fewell and unanimously carried,
the Authority approved the acceptance and transfer of real property from the State of
Indiana.
b. Authority approval requested for proposal for landscapine design services in the Airport
Economic Development Area.
Mr. Riggs requested proposals from Sitescapes and Landscapes Unlimited for
landscaping Blackthorn Corporate Park, both to develop a master plan rendering
showing driveways, cul de sacs, trees, etc., and to develop plans and specifications for
landscaping the right-of--way along Mayflower Road. Landscapes Unlimited submitted
• the lower bid. Although they do not have a lot of experience in this scale of project,
they have a very capable staff in landscape architecture. We are confident they can do
the job. The staff recommends accepting the proposal from Landscapes Unlimited.
Upon a motion by Mr. Fewell, seconded by Mr. Wroblewski and unanimously carved,
the Authority accepted the proposal from Landscapes Unlimited for landscaping design
services in the Airport Economic Development Area.
c. Authority approval reauested for proposal for professional services in the Airoort 2010
project area to develop a marketing brochure.
Mrs. Kolata explained that we have entered into a contract for the marketing of our land
in Blackthorn Corporate Park. This marketing brochure is for the whole project area. It
will not be specific to Blackthorn or Redevelopment-owned land. Pitcock Design Group
has submitted a proposal for time and materials, not to exceed $6,500, excluding
printing and photography. They have also been hired by our real estate agents to
develop the marketing materials for the corporate park. We think there may be some
savings for us in adapting some of those materials for use in this brochure.
Upon a motion by Mr. Fewell, seconded by Mr. Wroblewski and unanimously carried,
the Authority approved the proposal from Pitcock Design Group for professional
services in the Airport 2010 project area to develop a marketing brochure.
• -2-
