White—Aye <br /> Councilmember Rachel Tomas Morgan—Aye <br /> 49-24 PUBLIC HEARING ON AN ORDINANCE OF <br /> THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, APPROPRIATING <br /> ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR CERTAIN <br /> DEPARTMENTAL AND CITY SERVICES <br /> OPERATIONS FOR THE YEAR 2024 OF $90,000 <br /> FROM THE GENERAL FUND (#101), $70,000 <br /> FROM THE PARKS AND RECREATION FUND <br /> (#201), $343,000 FROM THE MOTOR VEHICLE <br /> HIGHWAY FUND (#202), $2,868,630 FROM THE <br /> DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY <br /> INVESTMENTS GRANTS FUND (#212), <br /> $3,501,690 FROM THE LOCAL INCOME TAX — <br /> PUBLIC SAFETY FUND (#249), $615,000 FROM <br /> THE IT/INNOVATION/311 CALL CENTER <br /> FUND (#279), $200,000 FROM THE WATER <br /> WORKS OPERATIONS FUND (#620), $2,000,000 <br /> FROM THE WATER WORKS CAPITAL FUND <br /> (#622), $61,500 FROM THE SEWAGE WORKS <br /> OPERATIONS FUND (#641), $339,365 FROM <br /> THE CENTURY CENTER OPERATIONS FUND <br /> (#670), AND $20,000 FROM THE SELF-FUNDED <br /> EMPLOYEE BENEFITS FUND (#711). <br /> Clerk Tirado read the bill to the Council for its second (2"d) reading. <br /> After the second (2"d)reading, Councilmember Lee requested the committee report. <br /> Council Vice President Niezgodski stated that Bill No. 49-24 went before the Personnel and <br /> Finance Committee and comes with a favorable recommendation. <br /> Councilmember Lee requested that the petitioner(s) state their name and address and share key <br /> points before the Council. <br /> Kyle Willis, City Controller, with offices on the 12th floor of the County-City Building, stated that <br /> the Department of Community Investment's Grants Fund will have a transfer of one million dollars <br /> ($1,000,000) to fund new homeownership and home repair programs, and an allocation of one <br /> million, eight hundred and sixty-seven thousand, seven hundred and thirty dollars($1,867,730)for <br /> the Urban Canopy Program.Three million five hundred and one thousand, six hundred and ninety <br /> dollars ($3,501,690) from the Local Income Tax-Public Safety Fund will be used to pay the Police <br /> and Fire Department's salaries.
