REGULAR MEETING July 22, 2024 <br /> Council Vice President Niezgodski requested that the petitioner(s) state their naive and address <br /> and share key points before the council. <br /> Erik Glavich, Director of Growth and Opportunity with offices on the 141h floor of the County- <br /> City building spoke regarding Bill No. 24-24. The new tax benefit from this property when it is <br /> completed would go from two thousand seven hundred and twenty dollars ($2,720) to eleven <br /> thousand eight hundred and seventy six dollars ($11,876)per year. This will allow for a market to <br /> be opened at this location and a small breakfast restaurant. <br /> Amanda Schatz, 701 Portage Ave, South Bend IN 46616, owner of the property spoke in support <br /> of the resolution. Amanda Schatz stated that this busniess would be built to cater families in the <br /> area. <br /> Andrew Casper, 701 Portage Ave, South Bend IN 46616, owner of the property spoke in support <br /> of the resolution. Andrew Casper stated that it is catered towards walk in costomers, so it would <br /> not require additional parking. <br /> Councilmember Bolden-Simpson asked for the contact information ofAmanda Schatz so she could <br /> connect the church adjacent to the property. <br /> Andrew Casper stated that he has reached out to the church. <br /> Council Vice President Niezgodski opened the public hearing. <br /> Tom Clemens, 814 Clemens Street, South Bend IN 46619, spoke in support of the resolution. <br /> Councilmember Lee thanked the owners for their investment into the first (1 St) district. <br /> Councilmember Warner thanked the owners for their investment. <br /> Councilmember Lee motioned for the passage of Bill No. 24-24, seconded by Councilmember <br /> Warner, and carried by a vote of eight (8) ayes with one (1) councilmember absent. <br /> Council President Sharon McBride—Aye Council Vice President Sheila Niezgodski—Absent <br /> Councilmember Canneth Lee—Aye Councilmember Ophelia Gooden-Rodgers—Aye <br /> Councilmember Troy Warner—Aye Councilmember Sherry Bolden-Simpson—Aye <br /> Councilmember Dr. Oliver Davis—Aye Councilmember Karen L.
