<br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the
<br />above bill, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to
<br />be heard. Council Member Broden reported that the Personnel and
<br />Finance Committee had met on this bill and recommends it to the
<br />Council favorable. Mayor Luecke made the presentation for the
<br />bill. He reported the City was continuing to budget capital
<br />improvements out of cash on hand, which is fiscally responsible.
<br />He advised that moneys from COIT and CEDIT will be used to pay
<br />for improvements to buildings, roads, curbs and sidewalks, as
<br />well as City neighborhoods. He informed the Council that $1.4
<br />million will be put into neighborhood programs; $250,000 to pay
<br />for another tree trimming crew; $200,000 for improvement to key
<br />commercial corridors; and an estimated $1.3 is needed to pay for
<br />construction of a new fire station. Council Member Coleman made
<br />a motion to recommend this bill to the Council favorable,
<br />seconded by Council Member Aranowski. The motion carried.
<br />Council Member Coleman made a motion to rise and report to the
<br />Council, seconded by Council Member Kelly. The motion carried.
