ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING <br />Be it remembered that the Common <br />Bend met in the Council Chambers <br />Monday, January 5, 1998, at 5:00 <br />order and the Pledge to the Flag <br />ROLL CALL Present: <br />Absent: <br />ELECTION OF OFFICERS <br />JANUARY 5, 1998 <br />Council of the City of South <br />of the County -City Building on <br />p.m. The meeting was called to <br />was given. <br />Council Members Aranowski, <br />Pfeifer, Kelly, Broden, <br />Varner, Ujdak, Coleman, <br />Hosinski and Sniadecki <br />None <br />City Clerk, Loretta Duda, conducted the presidential election. <br />Council Member Kelly made a motion to to elect Council Member <br />Coleman president, seconded by Council Member Broden. Council <br />Member Hosinski made a motion to elect Council Member Coleman <br />president by acclamation, seconded by Council Member Borden. The <br />motion carried. <br />Council President Coleman conducted the balance of the meeting. <br />Council Member Broden made a motion to elect Council Member <br />Pfeifer vice president, seconded by Council Member Kelly. <br />Council Member Coleman made a motion to elect Council Member <br />Pfeifer vice president by acclamation, seconded by Council Member <br />Hosinski. The motion carried. <br />Council Member Aranowski made a motion to elected Council Member <br />Borden chairman of the Committee of the Whole, seconded by <br />Council Member Sniadecki. Council President Coleman announced <br />that Council Member Broden was elected by acclamation. <br />APPOINTMENT OF COUNCIL ATTORNEY <br />Council Member Pfeifer made a motion to reappoint Kathleen <br />Cekanski - Farrand as Council's attorney for 1998, seconded by <br />Council Member Kelly. The motion carried by acclamation. <br />Council President Coleman announced there were two appointments, <br />Century Center and Human Rights, that needed to made in the near <br />future. He indicated that Glendarae Hernandez and Ed Ehlers <br />wanted to be reappointed, however, the procedure would follow the <br />City Code and any one interested should submit a letter to the <br />City Clerk expressing their interest. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, <br />Council President Coleman adjourned the meeting at 5:14 p.m. <br />ATTEST: ATTEST: <br />YVLati�. <br />City Clerk Presiders <br />
