South Bend Redevelopment Authority <br />Special Meeting - December 17, 1992 <br />3, NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />a, continued... <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Fewell, seconded by Mr. Wroblewski <br />and unanimously carried, the Authority approved the <br />Petition to Vacate Public Right-of-Way. (Old Cleveland <br />Road) <br />b. Authority annroval requested for Contract for enaineerina <br />services in the Airt~ort Economic Development Area <br />(eastern portion of Nimtz Parkway) <br />Mrs. Kolata explained that we previously had some <br />engineering work done to design the eastern portion of <br />Nimtz Parkway, but would like to have it re-designed to <br />change its location. The relocation would not require the <br />purchase of any additional right-of-way and would open up <br />the basbeelesslthanbpurchasingethesrightrofawaygfrom <br />shou <br />several different property owners. <br />Ken Herceg & Associates has proposed to do the work at an <br />hourly rate not to exceed $68,645. <br />Mrs. Kolata noted that we have applied for additional <br />• funds from the Transportation Improvement Fund to build <br />phase two of Nimtz Parkway and would like to have the <br />plans in place if and when we receive the funds for <br />construction. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Fewell, seconded by Mr. Wroblewski <br />and unanimously carried, the Authority approved the <br />Contract with Ken Herceg & Associates for engineering <br />services in the Airport Economic Development Area. <br />C. <br />Mrs. Kolata explained items 3.c and 3.d. together. When <br />the Airport Authority transferred title to its land to the <br />Redevelopment Authority for construction of the golf <br />course, we got title to 50 feet along the southern <br />boundary that we had not intended to take title to. The <br />Quit Claim Deed returns this 50 foot strip to the Airport <br />Authority. The Perpetual Easement on the west side of the <br />golf course is a 60 foot strip to provide the Airport <br />Authority with enough land for a road to serve the soccer <br />fields being developed south of the golf course. The <br />Airport Authority will maintain the road. <br />-2- <br />
