While our major focus is
on performing work within the Great Lakes Region, we can and have performed projects all
over the country.
Gerald Blomberg is the sole owner of The MRD Group and on April 1,1987, Mr. Blomberg
incorporated the company into an S Corporation. In addition to being the Corporate President,
he also acts as the company s Corporate Secretary as well.
In addition to Gerald's everyday "hands on" leadership, the MRD Group has a General Manager
(Joe Gozelski) that oversees all bidding, contracting, and company operations; a Vice President
of Business Development (Richard Nickerson) that coordinates project opportunities, writes
contracts and makes sure all prerequisite documentation and licensing is in order for each bid,
and also doubles as our environmental specialist; and a Manager of Recycling Operations
(Steve Lewinski) who coordinates all trucking, metals recycling, equipment movements and
doubles as our in-house Chief Financial Officer. We also have 6 others that serve as our Site
Superintendents in the field.
For over 3 % decades, The MRD Group has been providing complete abatement, demolition,
and site restoration services to some of our nation's largest companies. Projects have included
complete Power Plants, Paper Mills, Foundries, and high-rise buildings.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY AND BUSINESS HISTORY
The MRD Group began in 1975 when Gerald Blomberg created Midwest Rail Dismantlement to
remove railroad track lines and perform some simple demolition operations for the Milwaukee
Lines on several sites in Wisconsin. This continued for nearly 10 years. As this company grew in
competence and experience, Mr. Blomberg realized that in order to remain competitive in this
fast-growing industry, the company needed to diversify.
Over the next several years, Mr. Blomberg added an asbestos and lead abatement group to its
services portfolio and invested a large portion the company's revenue back into the company
in the form of machinery, personnel, recycling site compounds, and office spaces. The
company has now grown from its humble beginnings into a company with over 65 personnel
and over 45 pieces of heavy demolition and abatement equipment.
Ucmoiruvi Em,u rtn.nidl ;Gr txeS fPGy Cic6 :sal Rxn.ery
