cra <br />Apprenticeship <br />YOUTHBUILD: A youth and community development program that addresses core issues facing <br />low-income communities: housing, education, employment, crime prevention, and leadership <br />development. In YouthBuild programs, low-income young people ages 16-24 work toward their <br />high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency, learn job skills and <br />serve their communities by building affordable housing, and transform their own lives and roles in <br />society. Sponsors that wish to hire YouthBuild students who are trained in any occupation covered <br />under these standards and who meet the minimum qualifications for apprenticeship may do so via <br />the direct entry provision described in Appendix D: Selection Procedures. <br />MI Laborers Apprenticeship Standards Page 14 <br />
