REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 13.2000 <br />The property will contain single family residences. All streets and utilities will be put in at the <br />expense of the developers. <br />Mr. Magliozzi further noted that the Police and Fire Departments have advised that no additional <br />manpower will be required. Additionally, the Department of Code Enforcement and the Bureau of <br />Solid Waste have indicated that they will provide services once the area is annexed into the City. <br />In regards to administrative costs, Mr. Magliozzi stated that over a five (5) year period it is estimated <br />that the cost will be approximately six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000.00) with income from <br />taxes and other funds expected in the amount of approximately seven hundred thousand dollars <br />($700,000.00) which makes this annexation fiscally a plus for the City. <br />A Public Hearing was held on the Resolution at this time. <br />There was no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to this <br />Resolution. <br />Councilmember Ujdak advised for the record that he does have a relationship with one of the <br />petitioners but has been advised by legal counsel that he does not have a conflict of interest. <br />Therefore, Councilmember Coleman made a motion to adopt this Resolution. Councilmember <br />Kelly seconded the motion which carried and the Resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of nine <br />(9) ayes. <br />RESOLVE INTO THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />At 7:10 p.m. Councilmember Coleman made a motion to resolve into the Committee of the Whole. <br />Councilmember White seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br />Chairman Ujdak presiding. <br />BILL NO. 47-00 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE COMMON <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY <br />LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA; CERTAIN LAND <br />IN CENTRE TOWNSHIP CONTIGUOUS THEREWITH; <br />SYLVIA R. HOUSER REVOCABLE TRUST <br />Councilmember Ujdak advised that the Council has received a request from the Petitioner to <br />withdraw this bill from consideration. Therefore, Councilmember Coleman made a motion to strike <br />this bill from the agenda. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote <br />of nine (9) ayes. <br />BILL NO. 87 -00 PUBLIC HEARING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, ANNEXING TO <br />AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA CERTAIN LAND IN CENTRE <br />TOWNSHIP CONTIGUOUS THEREWITH, AND <br />RESCINDING ORDINANCE NO. 9111 -00; ROYAL OAK <br />ESTATES AND COMMUNITY BAPTIST CHURCH <br />Councilmember Ujdak advised that the Council has received a request from the Petitioner to <br />withdraw this bill from consideration. Councilmember Coleman made a motion to strike this bill <br />from the agenda. Councilmember White seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine <br />(9) ayes. <br />
