REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 13.2000 This bill had first reading. Councilmember Pfeifer made a motion to refer this bill to the Utilities Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third Reading on December 11, 2000. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. At the Privilege of the Floor portion of the meeting, Mr. Gary Gilot, Director of Public Works, 13th Floor, County -City Building, South Bend, Indiana, informed the Council that because there is great pressure to get this job done and it would create a hardship to delay this matter, he asked that the Council conduct its Public Hearing on this matter on November 27tb instead of December 110'. Therefore, Councilmember King made a motion to reconsider this agenda item. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. Councilmember Ujdak made a motion that the Public Hearing and third reading on this bill be set for November 27, 2000. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. Council Attorney Kathleen Cekanski- Farrand noted that the City Clerk's office would need a substitute bill which contains all the information left blank in the version submitted for first reading. This completed bill is required for proper advertising. UNFINISHED BUSINESS President Pfeifer thanked everyone who was involved in the recent loitering conference. She noted that a draft ordinance was distributed and she encouraged anyone who has comments to please contact their Councilmember with their concerns. NEW BUSINESS Councilmember Pfeifer advised that the Common Council will conduct only one (1) meeting in the month of December on December 11, 2000 unless there is unforeseen business.
