REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 23, 2000 BILL NO. 103 -00 FIRST READING ON A BILL OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, IN, APPROPRIATING $225,000 FROM THE SEWER REPAIR FUND (640) FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING UNANTICIPATED PRIVATE SEWER REPAIRS This bill had first reading. Councilmember Coleman made a motion to refer this bill to the Utilities Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third Reading on November 13, 2000. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. BILL NO. 104 -00 FIRST READING ON A BILL OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND ESTABLISHING THREE ADDITIONAL FUNDS IN THE SOUTH BEND SEWAGE WORKS AREA This bill had first reading. Councilmember Coleman made a motion to refer this bill to the Utilities Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third Reading on November 13, 2000. Councilmember White seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. BILL NO. 105 -00 FIRST READING ON A BILL OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND ESTABLISHING THREE ADDITIONAL FUNDS IN THE SOUTH BEND WATER WORKS AREA This bill had first reading. Councilmember Coleman made a motion to refer this bill to the Utilities Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third Reading on November 13, 2000. UNFINISHED BUSINESS REPORTS FROM AREA PLAN COMMISSION: It is noted that the Council is in receipt of recommendations from the Area Plan Commission of St. Joseph County, for the following ordinances based on their Public Hearing held on October 17, 2000: BILL NO. 84 -00 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 502 S. BROOKFIELD IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA BILL NO. 85 -00 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 608 - 610 COTTAGE GROVE IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA Councilmember Coleman made a motion to refer these bills to the Zoning and Annexation Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third Reading on November 13, 2000. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. NEW BUSINESS COMMUNITY WORKSHOP ON YOUTH AND LOITERING Council President Pfeifer announced that the third and final loitering conference will be held on November 9, 2000 from 5:00 -8:30 p.m. in the downtown public library.
