REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 28.2000 <br />BILL NO. 57-00 A BILL AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE <br />FOR PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 4200 & 4300 <br />BLOCK OF MEGHAN BEELER COURT IN THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, 46628 <br />Councilmember Coleman made a motion to refer this bill to the Zoning and <br />-- Annexation Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third Reading on <br />September 11, 2000. Councilmember Kelly seconded the motion which carried by <br />a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />There was no new business to come before the Council at this time. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br />Mr. Robert Elston, 1927 Briarway, South Bend, Indiana, owner ofproperty at 1326 South Michigan <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, advised the Council that he received a letter advising him of a Public <br />Hearing on a vacation petition that the Council was to discuss tonight but instead continued until <br />September 25, 2000. Mr. Elston stated that he attended other meetings regarding rezoning for this <br />property and this matter has also been postponed at those meetings. He wondered if he would be <br />notified of new dates for these matters. Councilmember Varner informed Mr. Elston that the <br />Council was not made aware of the continuation of Bill No. 64 -00 until this afternoon and apparently <br />the petitioner is reconsidering this request. Councilmember King reiterated that the petitioner is <br />rethinking the plan and he and Council President Pfeifer suggested that Mr. Elston contact Mr. Jon <br />Hunt of the Department of Community and Economic Development regarding this matter. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, President Pfeifer made a motion to <br />adjourn. Councilmember Uj dak seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes <br />and the meeting was adjourned at 9:50 p.m. <br />ATTEST: ATTEST: <br />oretta .
