REGULAR MEETING APRIL 10, 2000 <br />hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) a year and will maintain the thirty -five (35) existing jobs <br />representing an annual payroll of one million four hundred thousand dollars ($1,400,000.00). <br />A Public Hearing was held on the Resolution at this time. <br />Mr. Thomas Fellrath, Director, Public Policy, The Chamber of Commerce of St. Joseph County, The <br />Commerce Center, 401 East Colfax Avenue, Suite 310, P.O. Box 1677, South Bend, Indiana, <br />addressed the Council and indicated that the Chamber is in favor of this tax abatement request. <br />There being no one else present wishing to speak to the Council in favor of this tax abatement and <br />no one being present wishing to speak to the Council in opposition to this Resolution, <br />Councilmember Coleman made a motion to adopt this Resolution. Councilmember Kelly seconded <br />the motion which carried and the Resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of nine (9) ayes. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2860 -00 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND DESIGNATING CERTAIN <br />AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, COMMONLY KNOWN AS 2102 WEST <br />WASHINGTON STREET AN ECONOMIC <br />REVITALIZATION AREA FOR PURPOSES OF A SIX (6) <br />YEAR REAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT FOR <br />BATTEAST WAREHOUSE PARTNERSHIP <br />WHEREAS, a petition for real property tax abatement has been filed with the City Clerk for <br />consideration by the Common council of the City of South Bend, Indiana requesting that the area <br />commonly known as 2102 West Washington Street, South Bend, Indiana, and which is more <br />particularly described as follows: <br />A parcel of land in the northeast quarter of Section 10, Township 37 North, Range <br />2 East, Portage Township, City of South Bend, Indiana, known as lots one (1) <br />through five (5) inclusive, thirty (3 0) through thirty-nine (3 9) inclusive, forty -three <br />(43) and forty -four (44) inclusive and parts of vacated streets and alleys in Arnold's <br />First Addition <br />and which has Key Number 18- 4097 - 361201, be designated as an Economic Revitalization Area <br />under the provisions of Indiana Code 6 -1.1 -12.1 et sect., and South Bend Municipal Code Sections <br />2 -76 et. sea.,and; <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Community and Economic Development has concluded an <br />investigation and prepared a report with information sufficient for the Common Council to determine <br />that the area qualifies as an Economic Revitalization Area under Indiana Code 6 -1.1 -12.1, et. sea., <br />and South Bend Municipal Code Sections 2 -76, et sea., and has further prepared maps and plats <br />showing the boundaries and such other information regarding the area in question as required by law; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Community and Economic Development Committee of the Common <br />Council has reviewed said report and recommended to the Common Council that the area qualifies <br />as an Economic Revitalization Area. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br />SECTION I. The Common Council hereby determines and finds that the Petition for Real <br />Property Tax Abatement and the Statement of Benefits form completed by the Petitioner meet the <br />requirements of Indiana Code 6 -1.1 -12.1 et. sea., for tax abatement. <br />SECTION II.
