For
your next roofing project, discover how BITUTAK® delivers exceptional waterproofing
performance at a fantastic value.
PRODUCT INFORMATION
ASTM STANDARD LENGTH (ft)WIDTH (in)THICKNESS (mils) WEIGHT (lb)COVERAGE (sq ft)
D6222
Type 1, Grade G
32.8
(10.0 m)
39.4
(1.0 m)
161
(4.1 mm)
103
(46.7 kg)
97.9
(9.1 sq m)
FIRE SAFETY GUIDELINES
Torch application of BITUTAK® MB Mineral may threaten fire if strict application standards and procedures
are not followed. All operators of torch equipment should be thoroughly trained. In addition, a fire watch
should be maintained on the project for no less than 60 minutes following the last heat-welded work of the day.
An ABC-approved fire extinguisher should be on the site for each torch in operation.
PACKAGING & STORAGE
Each pallet contains 20 rolls. Rolls should be stored on end, on raised platforms, and protected from the weather.
INSTALLATION
Surface Preparation The substrate should be clean, stable, dry, free of any loose materials, grease, and other
contaminants, which may compromise the product’s performance.
Minimum Installation Temperature 40°F (4°C)
Installation Install with traditional torch roofing techniques ensuring proper heating of the roofing material
as not to expose the reinforcement. Apply consecutive rolls providing a minimum 6-inch end
lap and 3-inch side lap. A ¼ inch bleed-out should be visible at all seams.
Recommendations/
Restrictions
When heat welding on combustible substrates (wood, plywood, and OSB), a protective coverboard
must be installed before application. Keep any combustible material away from an open flame.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
PROPERTY / UNIT MD XMD ASTM TEST METHOD
Peak Load @ 0°F (-18°C); lbf/in (kN/m)145 (25.4)105 (18.4)D5147
Elongation at Peak Load @ 0°F (-18°C); %30 25 D5147
Peak Load @ 73.4°F (23°C); lbf/in (kN/m)110 (19.3)75 (13.1)D5147
Elongation at Peak Load @ 73.4°F (23°C); %45 45 D5147
Tear Strength @ 73.4°F (23°C); lbf (N)150 (667)115 (512)D5147
Dimensional Stability; %< 0.5 < 0.5 D5147
Low Temperature Flexibility; °F (°C)3 (-16)3 (-16)D5147
Compound Stability; °F (°C)> 275 (135)> 275 (135)D5147
Granule Embedment; g < 2.0 D5147
BITUTAK MB
PRODUCT DATA SHEET
BY
PD10456-REV. 027721
Mineral
®
All values shown are nominal and subject to normal manufacturing tolerances.
®
www.soprema.us
310 Quadral Drive, Wadsworth, Ohio 44281
TOLL FREE: (800)356-3521 | TEL: (800)334-0066
