INTER-OFFICE MEMORANDUM DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS TO: Board of Public Works FROM: Gemma Stanton, Project Engineer SUBJECT: Recommendation for Selection of Guaranteed Energy Savings Contract Provider for South Bend Wastewater Treatment Plant Solar and Energy Upgrades and Approval of Common Council Resolution DATE: 7/2/2024 On behalf of the review committee, I would like to recommend the provider of the Guaranteed Energy Savings Contract for Wastewater Treatment Plant energy upgrades be Veregy, LLC. After careful review of the two proposals submitted to our Request for Qualifications and interviews with both candidates, Veregy was chosen by the committee. Veregy offers a local presence in Indiana and a strong portfolio of successful local government performance contracts in the state. The review committee believes Veregy to be the best candidate for completing the desired solar and energy efficiency project. I ask that the Board of Public Works approve the enclosed draft resolution, which will ratify the recommendation of the review committee and authorize the Department of Public Works to negotiate an agreement with Veregy to develop the energy savings project scope and subsequently execute the Project Development Agreement.
