South Bend Redevelopment Authority
Special Meeting - April 10, 1992
3. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
a. continued...
price 5%. The staff recommendation is to hire Shilts
Graves directly.
Upon a motion by Mr. Fewell, seconded by Mr. Wroblewski
and unanimously carried, the Authority accepted the
proposal from Shilts Graves in the amount of $1,460 for
professional services in the Airport Economic Development
Area.
b. Authority approval requested for Extension of Residential
Lease with Elije Hannah Jr and Rosalind Hannah for
property located in the Airport Economic Development
Area.
•
Mrs. Kolata noted that the original deadline for the
Hannahs to vacate their property was January 31, 1992.
They moved from their home by then, but asked for a
90-day extension to allow them to salvage some of the
property from their outbuildings. We granted a 60-day
extension and said we would consider an additional 30-day
extension depending on how the construction schedule was
proceeding. Since it is not a problem for us to extend
the deadline, the staff recommends extending the deadline
to the end of April. The ground has been too soft to
move the things they want to remove.
Mr. Fewell asked if they would really be out of the
property by the end of April, or would they want another
extension. Mrs. Kolata responded that she believed the
request truly was weather related and that they would be
out by April 30. Mr. Fewell asked that the staff let the
Hannahs know that this is the final extension.
Upon a motion by Mr. Fewell, seconded by Mr. Wroblewski
and unanimously carried, the Authority approved the
Extension of Residential Lease with Elije Hannah, Jr.,
and Rosalind Hannah for property located in the Airport
Economic Development Area.
4.
