JOSEPH COUNTY STAFF REPORT <br />CONCERNING APPLICATION FOR A <br />CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS <br /> <br />Date: June 6, 2024 <br />Application Number: 2024-0530 <br />Property Location: 202 South Jacob Street <br />Architectural Style/Date/Architect or Builder: Colonial Revival / 1945 <br />Property Owner: William R. Lamie <br />Landmark or District Designation: East Wayne Street Local Historic <br />District, Ordinance #7796-87 <br />Rating: Non-Contributing <br /> <br /> <br />DESCRIPTION OF STRUCTURE/ SITE: A two-story rectangular block house with wings. The façade is 3 <br />bays with 8/8 double hung sash windows and a central entrance. The roof is gabled with asphalt shingles. <br />Attached flat-roof, single door garage on the north. <br /> <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: The applicant has requested approval to: <br /> <br />1. Install a rear yard waste container screen on the northeast side of the garage. The proposed vinyl fence <br />panels and gates are 72” tall. <br /> <br />2. Install a vinyl fence on the southeast corner of the rear patio. The proposed fence is 12’ in length and <br />48” tall. <br /> <br />STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES: <br /> <br />Fencing and Retailing Walls: Pages 12-13. <br /> <br /> SITE VISIT REPORT: N/A <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: The proposed fence projects are in keeping with the wide range of fence styles <br />and types in the East Wayne Street Local Historic District. Additionally, the proposed fence locations are only <br />minimally viewed from the street.
