ORDINANCE N0.7 y <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE <br />HIGHWAYS SAFETY FUND. <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br />The State of Indiana has approved two Indiana <br />Department of Highways Safety Project Grants. These grants <br />are required to be used for equipment and supplies for the <br />enforcement of traffic safety laws and accident investigations. <br />A separate fund is necessary to maintain separate records on <br />receipts and expenditures. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: <br />SECTION I. That the Highways Safety Fund be <br />established and tzat all monies received from the Indiana <br />Department of Highways Safety Project Grants be deposited <br />into that fund. <br />SECTION II. That the monies in the Highways <br />Safety Fund be used by t e South Bend Police Department <br />exclusively for equipment and supplies for the enforcement <br />of traffic safety laws and for equipment and supplies for <br />accident investigations. <br />SECTION III.
