INTER-OFFICE MEMORANDUM <br /> DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> DIVISION OF ENGINEERING <br />TO: Theresa Heffner, Clerk <br />Board of Public Works <br />FROM: Gemma Stanton, Project Engineer, Division of Engineering <br />SUBJECT: Rescind Contract Award for #124-010B Tree & Stump Removal B <br />DATE: June 3rd, 2024 <br />On May 14th, 2024, 2024, the Board of Public Works awarded the quote for the above project to <br />American Tree & Lawn Care whose total amount was the lowest quote received. During a pre- <br />construction May 29th, 2024, the quoter realized that errors were made in the quote calculations. As <br />a result, the cost of the project in its full scope would present significant financial hardship to the <br />owner. American Tree & Lawn Care is a local small business who has not had a City contract in the <br />past. Engineering has determined that is in the best interest of both the City and American Tree & <br />Lawn Care to terminate the contract and select a different quoter. Engineering recommends <br />recission of the contract with American Tree & Lawn Care. <br />Please reach out with your questions. <br />June 11, 2024
