identification number. The test will be performed in a private, confidential <br />manner as required by 49 CFR Part 40. <br />Positive Test Results. Any employee of SELGE that has a confirmed positive drug or alcohol test <br />will be terminated from his/her position, informed of the educational and rehabilitation programs <br />available, and referred to a SAP for assessment. <br />Cam liance with the Treatment Pro am Requirements. Employees are encouraged to make use <br />of the available resources for treatment of alcohol misuse and/or illegal drug use problems. Under <br />certain circumstances, employees may be required to undergo treatment for substance abuse or <br />alcohol misuse. Any employee of SELGE who refuses or fails to comply with a SAP's <br />requirements for treatment, after care or return -to -duty, shall be ineligible for rehire. The cost of <br />treatment will be paid by the employee or their insurance provider. <br />Types of Testing <br />Pre -Employment Testing. Any individual that seeks employment with or transfers into DOT <br />safety sensitive position at SELGE will be required to take and pass a urine drug test. The receipt <br />of a negative urine drug test is required. If the test was cancelled, SELGE requires the applicant <br />to take and pass a second urine drug test. Anytime an employee of SELGE is off work for 30 <br />consecutive days or more, the employee will be required to remain in the random drug testing pool <br />or pass another pre -employment urine drug test. Hiring or rehiring will be denied to any applicant <br />or employee who refuses to consent to a drug test or who tests positive. <br />Reasonable Suspicion Testing. If SELGE suspects that an employee has violated the Substance <br />Abuse Policy or concludes that the employee is impaired in his/her work performance, such <br />employee will be required to submit to an appropriate drug and/or alcohol test. <br />Post Incident Testing. All employees of SELGE are required to undergo urine drug testing and <br />breath alcohol testing if they are involved in an accident with a vehicle owned or leased by SELGE <br />if one or all of the following conditions are met: <br />The accident resulted in a fatality. <br />The employee of SELGE was issued a citation and a vehicle was towed from the <br />scene of the accident. <br />The employee of SELGE was issued a citation and bodily injury with immediate <br />medical treatment away from the scene of the accident was provided to anyone involved <br />in the accident. <br />The surviving employee that operated the vehicle or any other employee whose performance <br />cannot be completely discounted as contributing to the accident must be tested. <br />Following the accident, the employee(s) must be tested as soon as possible, but not to exceed eight <br />(8) hours for alcohol testing and thirty-two (32) hours for urine drug testing. Any employee of <br />SELGE involved in an accident must refrain from alcohol use for eight (8) hours following the <br />accident or until he/she has completed an alcohol test or released from duty. Any employee of <br />SELGE who voluntarily leaves the scene of an accident prior to submission to drug and alcohol <br />testing will be considered to have refused the test and the employee will be terminated. <br />An alcohol test should be administered within two (2) hours of the accident. If this has not been <br />done, SELGE will document the reason the test was not completed within two (2) hours of the <br />accident and will continue to attempt to obtain a test and document their attempts within the eight <br />(8) hour period. At the end of the eight (8) hours, SELGE will cease the attempt to administer the <br />test and document why the test was not completed. <br />
