South Bend Medical Foundation Demolition I City of South Bend
4. REFERENCE LETTERS
May 28, 2024 1 Page 7
NMNorthwestern
Medicine
Date 5/12/20
To Whom It May Concern,
Kishwaukee Hospital
1 Kish Hospital Drive
De Kalb, Illinois 60115
815,756.1521
nm.org
It Is my pleasure to share with you my recent experience with Walsh Construction Company.
Kishwaukee Hospital, part of Northwestern Medicine Network, hired Walsh Construction in September 2019 to
complete a renovation project within our existing main laboratory department. The project was completed in six phases
and included renovation to the laboratory department to facilitate new equipment and layouts.
Walsh was selected to construct this project based on best overall value. Construction in an operating hospital can be a
stressful process. Walsh, along with team members Eric Had€off (Sr. Project Manager) and Luke Oberhelman
(Superintendent), alleviated a lot of the stressors. They worked well with patients and staff to ensure they had as little
impact as possible, communicated well to all hospital departments involved in the project, kept competent staff onsite
to oversee the work and stood behind ensuring the initial budget and schedule were maintained throughout the course
of the project. The team was extremely professional, knowledgeable, responded promptly to questions, and kept the
job site clean and free of clutter. It was a real joy to work with them.
Representing Kishwaukee Hospital, I can say that we could not be happier with the work provided to us. We would
express our confidence in Walsh Construction and our desire to work with them again on future projects. Please feel
free to contact me if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
Jill Miller
Laboratory Manager, NM Kishwaukee Hospital
Phone:815-766-9528
