A geotexle <br />idenficaon layer was placed beneat a 1-foot cap of imported topsoil placed upon structure footprints. Addional <br />topographical survey was performed to confirm a minimum of 1-foot cap achieved. Byproduct from the acvies was stores onsite in large tailings piles. <br />Subcontractors abated asbestos containing materials in addion to abatement under variance in place mechanically due to <br />hardships of building integrity. Addional subcontractors performed clearing and grubbing of trees and vegetaon to allow <br />demolion acvies to commence. Grubbing was completed prior to the deadline put in place by NYDEC due to endangered <br />animals lknown to live within the area. <br />Crews performed universal and electronic waste removals prior to demolion of mulple silos, conveyors, concentrator, <br />hydroseparator, pump, scale, and thickener structures. Hardscapes generated from work was sized and placed within the <br />former footprint as clean backfill. The concentrator building was demolished under variance via wet methods due to <br />galbestos roofing. In some areas tank steel was cut up and directed into the confines of the lower tank base as <br />containment. The remaining sides of the tank were rigged, cut and picked to grade via crane. Sabre <br />subcontracted with tradebe who performed solidificaon via use of sawdust, transportaon, and disposal of approximately <br />150k tons of bulk, solidified number 6 oil. Following bulk solidifcaon tanks Tradebe performed a cuer stock rinse prior to <br />final inspeciton via marine Chemist to cerfy the tank clean for demolion. Tradebe performed inspecons and draining of <br />approximately 19,000-LF of pipe to prepare for demolion. <br />Pre-demolion commenced on the tanks via burners accessing from manlis. Openings were cut into the sides of the tank to <br />give the CAT 374 with 3rd member shear aachment a point to be gin peeling tank plate back. As Demolion connued in a <br />top-down manner burners were ulized to cut lower tank wall plate due to a resulng thickness of 1.282-inch thick plate. <br />Following demolion of all site features the former earthen berms surrounding each tank was rough graded to promote <br />posive site drainage. <br />Georgia Pacific <br />GP <br />Jim Childers <br />(931) 206-9443 <br />jim.childers@gapac.com <br />$185,000.00 Prime Demolion <br />Contractor None October-23 October-23 <br />Sabre was contracted to perform demolion of a control room within an acve work area on-site. Crews ulized flame <br />retardant poly to surround the work area keeping any dust and debris from the adjacent acve Facility areas. Cres used <br />man-lis and pneumac jack hammers to break up the concrete roof and pan decking. Scaffold was erected within the control <br />room to further demolish perimeter walls.
