Only containers which currently are authorized by regulation for chlorine, <br />which have been inspected and reconditioned as described herein, and which <br />have been tested within the period required by regulations should be filled. It <br />is illegal to ship chlorine containers that have been filled by or without the <br />consent of the owner. <br />2. Due to the volatile nature of this chemical, the chlorine provider must be <br />able to have one (1) accredited Safety and Handling of Chlorine class per <br />year for South Bend Personnel. <br />3. Chlorine quotes should be deposit-free. No cylinder deposit should be <br />included in the quote. <br />4. Ton Container Types <br />a) Chlorine ton container types must comply with DOT spec. 106A500X, DOT or <br />ICC 106A500, 27, BE27. <br />b) Ton Container Valve and Fuse Plug Opening Threads <br />c) The threads in new ton containers are 3/4-14NGT (CI). <br />3.
