The scope of work is to construct a concrete slab foundation (excavation, forming, placing, <br />curing) for a new duplex unit from the City’s pre-approved housing construction plans. <br /> <br />Two quotes were received: <br />• John Ward Concrete: $13,460 <br />• B&M Builders: $49,718 <br /> <br />Upon review of the quotes, it was determined that John Ward Concrete had excluded required <br />excavation costs in the quote, and that B&M Builders had included utility hookup work in their <br />quote. <br /> <br />Neither quote is responsive to the original request. Both quotes were rejected at the April 9 Board <br />meeting. In accordance with Indiana State Code, the project was procured in the Open Market. <br /> <br />Richard Custom Concrete was solicited to provide an Open Market quote, and they complied in <br />the amount of $18,511. Their quote is complete and responsive, addressing all requirements of <br />the original quote request. <br /> <br />I recommend award of an open market contract for 123-062H 614 Sherman Ave. TIF Project - <br />Foundation to Richard Custom Concrete, in the amount of $18,511.00. Funding is available <br />through PR-00032086. <br />
